Report from our teaching at the Idaho Humane Society

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

Every year the Idaho Humane Society asks us to come speak with their kids camp participants. We’ve done this for three years now and really think the kids are great. Sometimes it is the first time they’ve been close to a ferret and its great to go through the concepts where I ask them what they think about ferrets before they meet them. We also get answers of: they smell bad; they bite; they are playful, etc. Once the 45 minutes is over, the kids have gotten to smell a ferret and play with one. Most realize how great they can be and are just overjoyed at being able to hold them and interact with them. I’m hoping to post a picture, but so far the server is being a pain. Hopefully soon.
