Ohio Planning, McKay Ferret Whirlwind Fiesta
Friday, September 28th, 2007As many of you know, a shelter in Ohio has been surrendered close to 800 ferrets, all unfixed, some pregnant, all have had little handling and no vet care. The Northwest shelters want to help out as much as we can, so we are planning a flight out to Ohio and a van ride back. Cathy and I plan to fly out and drive back as many as our network can hold. This is going to be an expensive and highly-coordinated endeavor. Bill is staying with Sandon and the shelter while us girls go on a 33+ hour straight drive across the country. We will need to pre-ship carriers, food, bedding, litter, etc. before we arrive. This is the largest rescue we’ve ever been a part of.
We will post more about ways you can help as we get more coordinated. Right now, airfare, van rental negotiations are going on first. Once dates are in place, finer details will be provided.
Thank you to everyone who has helped so far.
