The day after Christmas
Sunday, December 27th, 2009The day after Christmas brought a very nice surprise, a former volunteer was ready to adopt, and who she wanted to adopt was really quite wonderful. On December 26th Mononoke went home. She was in the shelter 4/8/2008 and was our longest resident.
Most ferrets stay 3-6 months max, but others like Mononoke who had a convalescent cagemate for a while, and when her cagemate died, she didn’t want anything to do with a new friend are very hard to place. Energetic, playful, and sweet as could be, she was a great choice for a ferret, but her age made people frown. At 6 years and 8 months old, she’s finally placed in a home. She had adrenal surgery already and is as youthful as a three year old ferret. Her new owner loves her and Mononoke followed her new owner around the shelter. It was perfect.
After many of our givingtree ferrets were lost to the bad flu that came through, it was nice to see that one special girl went home.
Other Idaho rescue kids are slowly going into new homes too. They are so fluffy and beautiful now!
So for the ferret moment of zen
Mononoke looking right at you! Whatchu talkin bout Willis!
P.S. People are already talking show stuff… woo!
