Yes its true, the 3rd annual AFA Sanctioned Boise Ferret Show will be held on Saturday July 10, 2010 at the Boys and Girls Club in Garden City, Idaho.  For those who attended the show last year, it will be held in the same location this year.

This is an American Ferret Association (AFA) Sanctioned show.  There will be 3-4 championship title rings: Breeder/Adolescent, Alter, and Companion.  Depending on the number of adolescent and breeder ferrets attending the show that ring may be split into 2 separate rings.  We also will have 15 specialty rings, and in specialty rings every ferret that competes wins a ribbon!  Specialty rings are as follows:  Albino/DEW, Blaze/Panda/Mutt, Chocolate, Champagne/Cinnamon, Point, Roan, Mitt, Black Mitt/Black Roan Mitt, Sable, Black Sable, Super Senior, Physically Challenged, Shelter Rescue Jills, Shelter/Rescue Hobs, and Passport Required.  If there is enough interest we also will be running an Invitational Ring at this years show.
The show also will offer several fun events such as ferret bowling, paper bag breakout, costume contest, and tube run.  These events will be open to all ferrets that are competing in the show.   There will be tables of raffle and silent auction items where you can win all sorts of goodies for your ferrets.  Several ferret shelters, private ferret breeders, and vendors will have tables at the show as well where you can not only buy goodies from them but get some good conversation as well.

A ferret show is a great way to meet fellow ferret owners and you will get to see ferrets of all shapes, sizes, and color patterns!  Some ferrets weigh 5+ pounds!!  Petstore ferrets and private bred ferrets all will be attending this show.

In order to help put on this show we are looking for people or businesses to sponsor rings at the show.  Specialty ring sponsors start at only $60 and that gets an ad in the show book and the sponsor’s name appears on all the ribbons for the ring they sponsor!  If you are interested in sponsoring a ring or know a business that is interested please have them contact the shelter via email or phone.  If you can’t afford to sponsor a ring, we can always use donations for the raffles/auctions.  Items donated can be ferret related or non-ferret related.  All proceeds from the show go to help ferrets at Essential Ferret Services of Idaho.
