The Emmett Ferret Shelter is run by a married couple, Bill & Laura Baran (that's us!) We run the shelter from our home, and have six of our own ferrets. We have been caring for and adopting ferrets for over eight years. After visiting the Greater Chicago Ferret Shelter in 1999, we decided when we bought a home we would start our own shelter. Years later and 2,000 miles west, we did just that. We currently network with the member shelters of the Pacific Ferret Shelter Network www.ferretnet.org, and have some great foster-families, and volunteers too! We couldn't have done this without the help and support of all the ferret lovers out there. Thank you!
