Has had Surgery

Ferrets are prone to cancer. Almost all ferrets will need surgery for cancer by the age of 6. Has had Surgery means that we've noticed the symptoms and this ferret has already had surgery once.

While it's possible that a ferret could use a second surgery, it is unlikely to happen while they're still at an operable age.

Receiving a surgery for cancer often adds 1.5 to 2 years to their lifespan. The procedure can cost anywhere from $250 to $650 in the Boise, Idaho area.

We do not charge extra for ferrets that have had surgery. Many times these ferrets are even discounted because of their age.

Surgery is most often performed for adrenal cancer.
